Putting up the tree

Look at my sister's hair shining more than the fairy lights. What does she do to that hair?
Twinkle twinkle little star. That star didn't stay there. We now have a red one. Very revolutionary.Blondie is the best Chrismtas tree decorator. She helped decorate the "master" tree and the tree in my son's bedroom.
NSS (Nova Scotia Snowman)
My son. I had to threaten him we wouldn't go to the theme park to make him smile like a human being instead of making his usual grimaces. Yes, that's a forced smile.
Joe took that picture. It's me, in the world of shadows.
That's a ball I like very much. Round and fat.
Then we had some of the nice port, Blondie brought.

your son smiles like you turtle sprout! I cant beleive you have more than one tree, thats a sign of being rich.... Oh and it all looks beautifully decorated by the way!

It looks very nice. :) Is the other tree the same size, or a smaller-type? That must have been a lot of work decorating two trees.

can you send blondie and your sister over to decorate *my* tree? ;)

except that i have all my teeth, well almost.
No, fake trees are cheap you know. But i am a Christmas addict. If i could i'd have one it the bathroom. Hmmm, now, let me sleep on it...

the other one is a bit smaller, but not small. Yes, that is usually hard work, but this year there were lots of pairs of hands.

    moondog
i thought you weren't getting a *tree* this year!

    Chloe;
Beautiful photos; the most beautiful I have yet seen on your site. Lucky NSS with such a warm loving home. My son grimaces when the camera is anywhere near him as well; so hard to get a photo of his regular self. Your son looks very happy to be going to the Theme Park; the threat seems to have worked. We have more than one tree too. One downstairs (we decorated that one this afternoon) and one upstairs (we'll decorate that one next weekend).
    Sweet Dreams.

those glasses are gorgeous - where did you get them?
christmas time is strange, don't you think? the decorations and all those parties brings a smile to everyone's faces.

Well done (applause) - all decorating the tree, you even made me feel like decorating. I think your son looks like you. Do people say that to you?
I absolutely love those glasses! :) Do you know that port wine comes from my town - Porto? ;)

thanks, i fear you will all get sick of Christmas with all these premature christmas pictures. because there are more!

    Cathy
thank you! I wish you could be here.
I always believed in multiple tree projects. if one bombs you still have the other. Also, it's a nice way to use all your decorations.

    neurotic missy
no, thank you for bearing with me and all my christmas obsessions!

    moondog
i'll send them over with the gold bells then

    daria
erm they were a wedding gift.
christmas makes me extremely happy. it wasn't always like this. when i was little i didn't like it at all. this changed since i started living on my own. christmas is an acquired taste.

    devil mood
    thanks!
no, people tell me he looks like his dad. maybe i look like his dad too. but i hope not!
i know that port wine comes from Porto. It says so on the bottle!
And it's a lovely wine. One of my very favourite. We have a slighly similar kind in Greece, it's called Mavrodafni. It's sweet, deep red wine.

I have only one picture of me as child standing for a tree, and I have a crying face. I used to hate being photographed. I still don't particulary like it.
Please tell him, I understand, what a torture it can be, to have to stand up smiling for a photo. :-)
Well done anyway, we can hardly see it is a forced smile.

Chloe, you are far from the world of shadows: you brighten us up everyday!
Thanks for the nice photo log of the soiree.

Here in the states (USA) we are so shelered from the world that it seems like Christmas only hapens for us. Thank you for showing me Christmas from somewhere else.

I'm envious. It seems like your Christmas is closer to the real meaning than our shrink wrapped commercialized Crapmas is here.

Can I come celebrate with you?

You are just doing a great job at your house with the decorating.

Your son is very cute and pictures are a must. He will love that you made him smile when you start getting the snaps out in front of his girlfriend years from now.

    hehehe!
well not many people like being photographed. Since i got the digital camera i don't mind it because i can just delete the snaps i don't like. But i can't even remember the time before that. It must have been a torture!

    Squirm
thanks for coming here. come back again.

    zona boy
i thought so! and i wonder why they make beer shampoos and not bourbon ones.

    heidi
not yet. i just put some decorative christmas boxes. a fake and a cheat, through and through :)

    Finn
i'm sending you some over there.

    omara

i wish you could really join us. as the holidays approach i think about my blog friends more and more. i really wish i could see you all.

    connie
i never thought about the future girlfriend factor but you are so right.
i can't use it against him though. he is at the age when just the word "girl" makes him sick.

My hubby's threatening to have two trees too, this year, one outside the kids' bedrooms and one upstairs. I'll cave, I know...

But in the meantime, we're only on advent up here, Christmas decorations enter the house the 23rd, and the 24th is our big celebration. The rest is just for finishing all the cookies and the rest of the food..

No, I'm not sure why, the days before Christmas are usually nicer than the actual Christmas week, but we're still not putting up our tree for weeks!

Your son looks just like you! And I mean that in a nice way, not taking into consideration his teeth or forced smile...

Your house looks very festive, like it could be in a Christmas card. All those smiling faces, real ones and fake ones... Makes me wish I could spend some time over at your house!

You know how lucky you are to have all that?

BTW - it seems everyone in the blogosphere are putting up their trees these days - so I'm wondering... Ours normally lasts from about Dec 23rd till a few days after New Years Eve, then all the fir needles are gone.

Are all of yours real trees? If so, why aren't they all brown and naked come Christmas?

really? you, a procrastinator? but you're so good with these things, you make wonderful jewelry

    erikku
i really really wish you would spend sometime with us here. I'd make a cheesecake with Erikku written on it and we'd read Walden by the fire and listen to Muse.
I know i am lucky. I forget sometimes, but that's okay because a.you remind me b. i can't spend life with a smile tatoo on my face.

    Scholiast
my trees are fake. i like fake trees more. no needles on the floor too. :)
