No, wait. It actually stinks. Well, not love. Valentine's day, that's what I mean. I am so happy the day is over. I had forgotten until my son came back from school and announced: "Hey, it's Valentine's day. What are we going to do? Can I buy a new toy?"
And then when we went to the supermarket and M wanted to buy some unhealthy crisps, I mockingly yelled "VALENTINE!" and he blushed and left the bag where it was. So that was Valentine's day 2007.
But I don't want the day to go unsung. The following Eels lyrics are my tribute to this celebration of luv:
Life goes on
Nothing is new
Judge made it clear
I can't be near you

I wonder if 'Hallmark' and the other card manufacturers are worried?
((((hugs))))
I wish Happy Valentine's to those who truely deserve it, though.
too true. i got my own chocolate at the supermarket :)
day
hugs are accepted all year round xx

there's absolutely nobody in this world who doesn't deserve love or to celebrate love. this silly day is another thing altogether. don't attach any symbolism to it. love does not keep a calendar you know.
xx
plus - its become one hell of a marketing gimmick. the only ones who truly have lots of fun are all the crooked companies who sell cards, gifts and other such 'things' that are ugly 'representations' and 'symbols' of our love...
so now u know - there r others with black, why blacker hearts :)
I can't pass up the conversation hearts.lol
Take care,
Connie
I don't see Valentine's Day as a day created specifically to "profess love" so much as a day created to celebrate it.
We've got so many bogus holidays, especially in this country, but I think one that stands out and says, "Love and Romance are important and should be cherished!" is a valid one.
Valentine's Day has been around since the Middle Ages, long before Hallmark or any other commercial cards were even invented, so I don't understand why people say it was created by manufacturer's.
Everyone's going to make some money out of holidays, that's just natural. Nobody complains about the marketing gimmick of Mother's Day or Father's Day, which are a lot more manufactured than Valentine's Day. Heck, even someone is getting rich off those pink ribbons during "Breast Cancer Month."
It is fun for the kids though..
But thanks for the loverboy card, very funny :)
We are here to love..............I love love love Valentine's Day.
But I share love and sweetness everyday not just that day.
I give Valentine's to everyone and tell them if they are lucky enough to have a great love treasure it.
I have lost so many I love these past few years and treasures those I have left to love here on Earth.
Love is all you need.

BAH! Cinnamon hearts!
That's all I have to say about Valentine's Day.
Did you know Valentine's Day initials also stand for venereal disease?
I did like making my own valentines with paper doilies and construction paper when I was a girl.
Holidays have become a huge racket in the U.S.
